National Youth Week

Group of young people at a youth week event

National Youth Week (NYW) is an initiative that gives young people aged 12 to 25 years the opportunity to express their ideas, showcase their talents, have their voices heard on issues that affect their lives, celebrate their positive contribution to the community and most importantly, have fun.

Basically, it's a week long party right across Australia where young people get to participate in heaps of competitions, events and activities and is the largest celebration of young people on the Australian youth calendar.

Every National Youth Week has its own theme.

If you are young, young at heart or care about young people we want you to become involved in an activity, event or project with your school, university, TAFE, local community or just with your mates.

NYW aims to encourage you to:

  • Share ideas
  • Attend live events
  • Have a voice on issues of concern to you
  • Showcase your talent
  • Celebrate your contribution to the community
  • Have fun

National Youth Week will be celebrated in Gosnells every year over a weekend in April.
